Through this journey I have grown so much in awareness of some of the harmful, rigid, and unrealistic thought patterns and expectations that I apply to myself and to my work. I realized that my “normal” experience of work was really overworking. I was always overworking and never resting. I had no concept of the different types of rest that could refill me in different ways.

STEP 1: LET'S TAKE THINGS OFF YOUR PLATE TO GIVE YOU MORE BREATHING ROOM
We often end up overwhelmed because we're overextended, overworked, & overcommitted. We don't know how to say no, or feel like we should be doing it all.
Let's get a really clear picture of everything on your plate so you can decide if it belongs there in this season.

Define your non-negotiables to ensure your priorities are ACTUALLY given space in your busy schedule, rather than squeezed in with whatever time is left -- which is one of the reasons we end up feeling misaligned, frustrated, burnt out, or guilty.
Identify healthy boundaries that are needed to protect your priorities and learn how to set them more confidently even in environments where overworking is the norm or you're fighting uphill battles (military life anyone?).
STEP 4: LEARN TOOLS TO MANAGE STRESS & SILENCE THAT HARSH INNER CRITIC
The secret I've discovered is that stress management & time management is actually about managing our mind, more than anything else.
I'll give you a simple protocol to follow whenever you're struggling with negative self-talk or spiraling -- this works with feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, guilty, discouraged, afraid, insecure, or any negative emotions.
You don't have to feel like a victim to your circumstances (let's be honest, so much is out of our control - especially in the military & mom life...and that's HARD), bury your emotions in distractions (social media scrolling, late night sweets, Netflix binging or that nightly glass of wine) or run from them into more busyness & productivity.
STEP 5: FILL YOUR CUP WITH INTENTIONAL PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, & SPIRITUAL REST SO YOU'RE NO LONGER RUNNING ON EMPTY
